Can you use thousand sons with Chaos Space Marines? ›

Answer: Yes, CSM and Chaos Knights can bring Be'lakor as an ally. This is 99% clear in the rules. Thousand Sons, Death Guard, World Eaters, and CSM led by Lucius (a stand-in for Emperor's Children) can't.

Codex Chaos Space Marines Verdict

CSMs do a lot of things well as a faction, combining fast movement, good brawling, and powerful shooting. I expect them to be up there int he 40K meta, as they can easily pour out the wounds into Orks or just be able to punch through armor as needed.

Plague Marines are those Chaos Space Marines who have wholly dedicated their lives and souls to the service of the Chaos God Nurgle.

In no particular order, the Changeling, Blue Scribes, Nurglings, and Flamers are units to consider allying into your CSM army, as they give you cheap, versatile units to move around the table and score objectives.

You can't mix Chapters in a Space Marine army.

However, Detachments found in a Codex supplement or Index supplement, such as the Inner Circle Taskforce in Codex Dark Angels, may only contain units from that Chapter or units that don't have any Chapter keyword.
