Responsibilities include conceptualizing designs, leading pre-production, producing web and social media content, and managing design projects. The coordinator also develops testing and revision protocols to optimize compatibility and troubleshoot issues while contributing new design ideas to promote the department's image. Essential skills include visual design expertise, multitasking, and adherence to deadlines.

Act as a leader in communicating conceptual ideas and design rationales, all within a user-centered design processDirect and execute pre-production activities, such as creating wireframes or mockups and establishing a project timelineCreate interactive deliverables, including website designs, emails, user interfaces, social media posts, and presentationsWrites articles, gathers and edits material from other writers, and arranges graphics, photos, videos, and audio content at the siteCreate designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design conceptsDevelop and implement procedures for ongoing website revisionDevelop, validate, and document test routines and schedules to ensure that test cases mimic external interfaces and address all browser and device typesDevelop and deliver workshops on creating web and social media presenceIdentify and correct problems uncovered by testing or feedbackContribute daily to the creative process by coming up with innovative design ideas to further enhance and build the department's brandExcellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interactionWork on multiple projects at once and consistently meet draft deadlinesProvide site and content support to university faculty and staffMaintain the university brand across various mediumsPercentage Of Time 100

Identify and correct problems uncovered by testing or feedback.Required QualificationsThis position requires either (a) Master's degree from an in a directly related area of specialization; (b) Bachelor's degree from an in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c ) 6 years of direct experience.Faculty Position Required QualificationsN/ADepartmental Requirements
Two or more years of experience designing in a web-based environment (publishing/editorial preferred)Complete proficiency in WordPress and WordPress theme development, designs and edits, HTML, and PHP coding experience preferredExperience with web hosting environments and cPanel preferredProficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma (or other interface design tool)Comfortable knowledge of CSS/JavaScript/CMS and current development trendsA solid portfolio with design examplesExperience writing articles and documentationAbility to manage and meet multiple deadlinesGood organization skillsExcellent written communication skillsStatement(s) of Understanding DefinitionThis position requires a background check. In conjunction with the University's policy, this position may also require a credit check.
